Change was unnecessary

Can’t believe someone from Seaham Council cancelled the Remembrance Day parade from the cenotaph on North Terrace because of the weather.

We arrived at 10.45am to be told it had been transferred to the church at the top of Church Street. People who turned out were dressed appropriately for the weather and didn’t care that it was raining.

The reason for being there was to pay respects to our fallen heroes. Old men had to make their way to the church only to find there was no room left inside and missed the parade.

What a lack of common sense.
