Brexit debate has moved on

Dr Guiseppe Enrico's letter (November 27) claims that a people's vote is needed on leaving EU. I must disagree.

Prior to the 2016 referendum it was clearly stated by the Government that the result would be honoured.

Following the referendum, Parliament voted to trigger Article 50 to leave the EU.

Parliament also passed the EU Withdrawal Bill.

It would therefore be a huge and possibly fatal blow to democracy if the in-out referendum was rerun.

That decision was made and the people voted in 2016 to leave the EU.

The debate has now moved on.

If a second vote was to take place it can only be on the terms of leaving.

The question is simple. Do you agree with the Government’s agreement with the EU or do we leave with no deal?
