So while David and the rest of the EU leaders sit around the dining table in Brussels feasting on venison and quaffing fine wines, what exactly has he achieved on his promise to renegotiate Britain’s immigration policy with Europe?
Well, listen to Mr Cameron and he will tell us good progress has been made and he is confident that a pathway has been found that will enable him to deliver on his promises.
A view it seems only held by him.
Even after being told in no uncertain terms by fellow European leaders that they will never agree to his demands, he still seems unable to admit to yet another failure by him and his Government to deliver on promises made to the British people.
The only agreement reached at the meeting was a promise to meet again soon for yet another slap up freebie meal. It’s a hard life.
