A question of priorities

I agree with Peter O’Connor’s letter (September 24) Vanity spend doesn’t help.

Fly-tipped rubbish should be a priority in getting cleared away.

The library should remain in its current location, also the computers. We need a library and computers in the centre of town, both are extremely well used.

The council has got money. It must spend it on its legitimate commitments. The residents of Sunderland wants that money spent on keeping libraries open, fly-tip rubbish cleared, paving stones made safe.
