Are you ready to tell the world about The Tall Ships Races coming to Sunderland?
Well now comes your chance thanks to a new poster campaign.
Hopefully it will be plain sailing with a fair wind. We are up for the challengeMichelle Daurat. project director of The Tall Ships Races Sunderland 2018
The Sunderland Echo has just launched the colourful new poster and we want you to promote it all around the world.
In fact, whenever you go on holiday, go on a day out, or visit relatives anywhere in the world, we want you to take a copy of the poster.
That way, you can help us to tell the world ‘The Tall Ships are coming to Sunderland!’
Already, copies of it have been snapped up by readers in the 24 hours since it was launched. Interest is growing in our campaign which works as follows;
1 Grab a copy of the poster which can be downloaded from the Sunderland Echo website. Keep it safe and take it with you on holiday.
2 When you arrive at your holiday destination, hold your poster up and have your photograph taken with it.
3 Send that picture to us – with the tag Wear On Board – so that we can publish it. That way, we can tell the world that Sunderland is right behind the Tall Ships Races 2018.
4 Send it to us either by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, send it in a message to the Sunderland Echo Facebook page, or post a copy of the photograph to Chris Cordner, Sunderland Echo, Alexander House, Rainton Bridge Business Park, Houghton-le- Spring, Sunderland, DH4 5RA.
Don’t forget to include some information about yourself and contact details so we can find out more about your visit.
Our poster got lots of attention when we promoted it at a huge event yesterday - on the very the day that Sunderland celebrated one year to go until the races come to the city.
With your help, we are hoping to get a flood of pictures showing the Tall Ships poster being photographed in countries right around the world.
It’s a great way to spread the word of the races to all parts of the globe. How many countries can we reach? That’s down to you.
Our campaign lasts right up until the races in July next year.
But the word is out. Let’s spread it far and wide and make sure the world knows - Wear On Board for a fantastic festival of fun
