Youngsters to ‘take over Sunderland’

Have your say

WEARSIDE youngsters will take over Sunderland tomorrow.

Now in its seventh year, National Takeover Day – led by the Children’s Commissioner for England – will see children and young people experience work by ‘job shadowing’ adults.

Sunderland City Council has co-ordinated a range of activities including training sessions with the fire service, visits to Southwick police station to see how officers carry out finger printing and interviews with a visit to the custody cells, working alongside construction, maintenance and marketing teams from Gentoo and shadowing the catering team at NHS Sunderland Royal Hospital.
