Young Sunderland dancers prepare for annual show

Twinkle-toed youngsters from a city dance school are gearing up for their annual show.

Pupils from the The Worx - Dance Theatre Arts are limbering up to take to the Sunderland Empire stage.

Monday’s show, entitled Worx 2015, will be the culmination of a year’s hard work by the budding stars who train regularly at the school’s base in High Street West.

It will feature musical favourites, such as Cats, We Will Rock You and Wicked, as well as commercial routines and acrobatic tumbling.

Principal and choreographer Keeran Rose Greener said: “Our pupils have trained so hard this year, they’ve reached a huge highs in regards to achievements so far this year already. They’re becoming such strong, talented,professional performers, I couldn’t be prouder of them.”

Children who attend the school, which is for two to 18-years-old, train to championship standard in classical ballet, tap, jazz, commercial street, stretch, gymnastics, singing, drama and musical theatre.
