A SUNDERLAND artist has helped to create a new version of an iconic body-paint image.

Karen Cessford, of Kismit Street Art and Body Painting, spent three hours painting the body of model Beccy Guenther to recreate a 1992 Vanity Fair cover shoot featuring actress Demi Moore naked except for a layer of paint.

It sees Beccy don a painted-on suit similar to the one that helped the magazine image, captured by celebrated photographer Annie Leibovitz, to become one of the most famous body-paint shoots of all time.

Photographer Paul Cummings said: “Karen, being Karen, saw this as a challenge.

“For myself, this was something I hoped people would look at and instantly recognise as our interpretation of this famous shoot.

“Beccy had spoken to Karen before about being involved in a body-paint shoot. She was really keen to work with Karen.

“Both Karen and I agreed to approach her straight away. Personally, I thought Beccy had a great look for this project.”
