Yellow wind warning for the North East as Storm Henry blows in

The Met Office has issued a weather warning as Storm Henry makes his arrival in the North East.

A yellow wind warning is currently in place for the region, with south-westerly gales expected to increase in power and bring severe winds locally by tonight.

This morning's cloud cover is expected to clear as the day goes on, and temperatures will drop.

Forecasters have said that the winds are due to to peak overnight before gradually easing towards dawn tomorrow.

Storm Henry won't be leaving us any time soon, though, with tomorrow's forecast also predicted to be extremely windy.

But it's not all doom and gloom - there is bit of sunshine predicted for the coming days, but unfortunately it will come with showers.

The rest of the week is set to be blustery - but nothing like today.
