Worker knocked to the ground in petrol station robbery

POLICE are appealing for information after a robbery at a filling station in Houghton.

The robbery happened at 9pm on Sunday, March 1, at Chilton Moor Filling Station in North View Terrace in Chiltern Moor.

A man went into the premises and stole a quantity of cash. It is not believed any weapons were used in the robbery, however, a staff member was knocked to the ground in the process of the robbery.

The staff member suffered minor injuries as a result of the fall.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the robbery and are appealing for anyone who was in the area to get in contact.

Detective Sergeant Henry Gustard, said: “We’re carrying out enquiries into the robbery and would ask anyone who has any information to get in contact.”
