Women to get on their bikes

Have your say

WOMEN of Durham – it’s time to saddle up.

The city will host a Breeze women-only bike ride next weekend.

Part of British Cycling’s programme of free events and activities aimed at getting a million more people cycling regularly by 2013, Breeze is a national campaign aimed at encouraging women to ride and use local, accessible routes in small friendly groups.

Natalie Justice, Breeze network project manager for British cycling, said: “Breeze bike rides are perfect for helping women get out and about in a fun and informal way and meet like-minded people.

“Our Breeze champions can help you find the fun of bike riding again.

“It has never been easier to get back on a bike as Breeze offers some great information, advice and support on a wide range of topics including access to cycle hire, someone to ride with and safe routes in their local area.”

The ride sets off from County Hall, in Durham, at 1pm onSunday, May 13.
