Woman rescued after falling from cliff at Ryhope

A woman had to be rescued by the Coastguard after falling down an embankment on the coast at Ryhope.

At 7.49pm on Thursday, October 1 a member of Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team was called to support Seaham and Hartlepool Coastguard Rescue teams at at Halliwell Banks, Ryhope.

A female had fallen down an embankment on cliff tops.

She was recovered by Coastguard Rescue officers using rope rescue equipment and handed into the care of paramedics suffering only from minor injuries.
