Woman driver arrested after car hits vehicles

MOTORISTS woke up to find their vehicles had been damaged after an early-morning crash.

Northumbria Police received a report of a car colliding with several parked vehicles in Weldon Avenue, Grangetown, Sunderland, yesterday.

Officers attended the scene at about 1.30am.

A 24-year-old woman driver was stopped. She was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol.

The 24-year-old remained in police custody yesterday. Inquiries are continuing.
