Witnesses sought after van driver attacked in broad daylight in Sunderland

A van driver was attacked in broad daylight in Sunderland yesterday.

He was parked on Henry Street when he was approached by a man who assaulted him before making off.

The man was left shaken by the incident, which took place at 11.20am, but uninjured.

The offender is described as a white man, of slim build and aged between 20 and 30. He has dark hair and eyes.

He was wearing a blue jacket and hat, and blue jeans with white writing.
