On June 10, Frankly Sinatra will pay tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes at Sunderland Empire, with Magic of Motown hitting the stage the following night – and you could be there for free.

Billed as the “world’s No Frank Sinatra tribute”, Stephen Triffitt stars as the main man in Frankly Sinatra and celebrates his most famous recording: Sinatra Live at the Sands.

This new production features many of the songs from the classic album, originally performed way back in 1966.

Regarded as the definitive Sinatra live performance, the album was Frank’s first commercially-released live recording, packed with 22 tracks including many of his best-known hits.

Featuring the swing, swagger and velvet vocals of Frank Sinatra in concert, Stephen himself has enjoyed three seasons at Las Vegas’ Sands Casino portraying the singer.

He created the role of Ol’ Blue Eyes in the original West End production of The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas that toured the USA, Canada and Europe.

Michael Taylor, from production company Easy Theatres, said: “Stephen Triffitt has sold out the London Palladium twice and the Royal Festival Hall with solo concert shows.

“In Frankly Sinatra he skilfully dips in and out of character to tell the fascinating tale of the greatest vocalist and most charismatic performer of our time.”

Stephen is famed for performing classic hits Fly Me to the Moon; Mack the Knife; New York, New York; My Way; That’s Life; Under My Skin; Lady is a Tramp; My Kind of Town; All the Way and Luck Be a Lady with Frank’s laid back charm.

Michael added: “Stephen not only walks the walk, he talks the talk. Combining delicious vocals with a playful, laid-back stage presence, he faithfully recreates Frank’s trademark stage persona with consummate ease.”

The following night, the Magic of Motown will transport audiences back to the time of classic Sixties, with hits including Stop in the Name of Love; Dancing in the Street; My Guy; Ain’t No Mountain High Enough; This Old Heart of Mine; I Heard it Through the Grapevine; Endless Love; All Night Long; Heatwave; I’m Coming Out; Why Do Fools Fall in Love; Get Ready; Ain’t Too Proud to Beg; My Girl; I Want You Back; I’ll Be There; How Sweet it Is and Baby Love.

“Sixties classics give way to present-day masterpieces from Lionel Richie and Diana Ross,” says show producer Michael Taylor.

“Sadly, many of the original singing legends are either no longer with us or no longer touring. The Magic of Motown is the nearest you’ll get to authentically capturing their incredible musical legacy in a live show.

“Our young cast is able to reflect the exuberance and excitement of these songs as they were originally performed.”
