From rock god head-banging to sword swallowing stunts and music royalty, a trio of top shows are heading to Sunderland this month – and we have a pair of tickets to give away to each.
First up at Sunderland Empire is Circus of Horrors on March 20.
The show that stormed into the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, and now a West End smash, is back in Sunderland to mark its 21st anniversary in spectacular style.
The last few years has seen the profile of The Circus of Horrors jump tremendously, after rampaging into the finals of Britain’s Got Talent and to date it’s still the only circus ever to reach the finals.
The latest incarnation, Welcome to the Carnevil, is set in Victorian London in 1899, when Jack the Ripper was still at large and this was the age of the freak show. A young girl dreams of running away to join the circus only to see her dream become a nightmare in a decrepit and corpse-ridden carnevil, plagued by a swamp of killer clowns, sword swallowers, demon dwarfs, death defying aerialists, a Guinness world record holding hairculean diva swinging solely from her hair, back flipping and fire limboing acrobats and more.
Steve Steinman’s Meatloaf will be rocking the High Street West venue on March 22.
Since his appearance on Stars in their Eyes show performing as Meat Loaf, Steve Steinman has become a star in his own right.
Together with a top band, The Meat Loaf Story delivers the greatest hits from Meat Loaf’s catalogue including Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth, Anything for Love, Dead Ringer for Love and Bat Out of Hell, plus many more.
Rounding off the trio of one-night shows in style is Mercury – The Ultimate Queen Tribute on March 23.
Winners of the National Tribute Awards, Mercury have firmly established themselves as one of the world’s most authentic tributes to Queen.
Mercury formed in 1998 and have since gone on to play theatres, festivals and high profile shows across the UK and Europe – from Holland to Hungary and from Majorca through to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
With a dynamic stage show that emulates rock’s most flamboyant front man, Mercury faithfully and accurately recreate the distinctive Queen experience with performances of hits including Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, We Are The Champions, We Will Rock You and many more.
•Tickets are available from the box office in High Street West, from Tel. 0844 871 3022 or online at www.ATGtickets.com/Sunderland.
