YOUNG Sunderland fans have the chance to lead out their heroes at a Stadium of Light Premier League clash next month – by winning today’s Echo competition.

Barclays has launched a campaign to say thank you to all the fans, community heroes, players and managers that do so much to make the game what it is.

To thank the young fans for the passion and support they show to their club, Barclays has teamed up with the Echo to offer one lucky child the opportunity to accompany the referee in leading both teams onto the pitch at the game against former manager Steve Bruce’s Hull City on Saturday, February 8, kick-off 3pm.

Black Cats supporter Jack Tynne won our previous competition, also through Barclays, to be mascot for last October’s Sunderland v Newcastle derby game at the Stadium of Light.

The Ryhope youngster proved to be a good omen as the Wearsiders won 2-1, thanks to goals from forwards Steven Fletcher and Fabio Borini. The lucky child must be aged between five and 12, and will have the chance to meet the Sunderland team.

They will also receive two match tickets and get a Barclays mascot kitbag.

To enter, parents should email with their child’s details.

Entrants will receive a short entry form, which they must complete and send back no later than midnight on Thursday to be in with a chance of winning.
