Where has he played before?

Sinclair comes with some impressive pedigree, having started his career in the academy at Liverpool.

He progressed through the ranks at the Reds - picking up international honours at U16 and U17 level along the way - before making his way into the club's senior set-up.

When making his senior debut for Liverpool in 2012, Sinclair became the club's youngest ever first team player. That record still stands today.

The striker enjoyed a nine-game loan spell at Wigan in 2015 before returning to Anfield in time to net his first senior goal in a 2-2 draw at Exeter in the FA Cup.

But since moving to Vicarage Road, the striker has made only 11 first team appearances, while he was also sent out on loan to Birmingham.

Nonetheless, his time at two big Premier League clubs means that Sinclair will come with a good footballing knowledge and plenty of experience at a higher level - something which will undoubtedly stand him in good stead this season.

What type of player is he?

Direct, pacy and with bags of skill in his locker, Sinclair will give defenders plenty to think about.

The striker's goal-scoring record may not inspire too much confidence, but he has struggled for regular football over recent years.

If he is given a regular run of games at the Stadium of Light, then Sinclair could prove a fine addition.

What have managers said about him?

Former managers have generally been complimentary of Sinclair, praising both his on and off-pitch conduct.

After handing him a senior debut, former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said of the striker: "It is no good being the youngest player and then drifting out of it, but thankfully, he's a good kid."

How will he fit into Jack Ross' side?

Ross has been desperate for new strikers this summer, with Josh Maja and Andrew Nelson the only two out-and-out strikers currently on the books, so Sinclair should fit into the side fairly seamlessly.

His versatility means that Ross could utilise him in several different ways.

Whether the Sunderland boss plays with a lone striker or with two up top, Sinclair will be able to perform a job down the middle.
