There is definitely a taste of Christmas in the air.

Think roasted chestnuts, winter spices and hot chocolate spiked with a warming Irish cream.

The time is almost right for an evening (or whole day) of festive indulgence - and where better to enjoy a taste of the season than at a Christmas market.

Once you've filled your boots with delicious things to eat and drink, shop around for Christmas crafts, unique presents and a little bit of what you fancy.

Or if you've got an eye for beautiful home made crafts, there are plenty of stalls to keep you occupied.

The North East is packed with events this season, so take a look at our list - and don't forget to send us information about your own markets and fairs to add in.
