The Post Office is going to reopen in Addison Road, West Boldon later this month.
The sub post office will be back in business at 1pm on Monday, December, 21, following the appointment of a new agent and services will be available during the store’s opening hours.
These are from 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 6am to 4pm on Saturday and 6am to 1pm on Sunday.
The opening hours will offer customers 77 hours of Post Office service every week.
Kenny Lammont, area manager said: “We apologise for any inconvenience the closure has caused to our customers when the branch temporarily closed in February.
“We are now making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking, because we know how important these services are to local residents.
He added: “We are confident that this reopened Post Office at the heart of the community will meet customer needs.
“This is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, and will secure services for the future.”
