This is what the weather will be like in Sunderland over the August bank holiday weekend

We’re certainly used to not seeing much sunshine over a British bank holiday – and this year’s August long weekend is no exception.

We can expect some showers up until around 4pm on Friday, changing mostly to cloud throughout the rest of the weekend all the way through until Tuesday, September 1.

The weekend’s temperatures will be mild – with highs between 14°C and 16°C – but definitely not the glorious sunshine we’d hoped for.

Sunday, August 30 is your best chance of catching some rays in Sunderland, with sunny spells forecast throughout the afternoon to around 7pm in the evening.

A Met Office spokesman added: “Mainly fine through Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with sunny spells by day, but some cold nights.”
