What will the weather be like in Sunderland this morning?

A weather warning is in place for snow and ice in the region. There will be heavy rain and the potential for snow and sleet in the early hours of the morning.

Temperatures will drop to 2C overnight but with wind chill it will feel as cold as -4C.

It’s set to be sunny in the morning although it will remain blustery with gusts of wind expected to reach 38mph.

What about this afternoon?

Clouds will begin to descent at around 2pm and it will wind speeds will rise to around 48mph at 3pm, according to the Met Office’s forecast.

The temperature will rise to 7C but it won’t feel any warmer than 2C.

It will remain partly cloudy and blustery into the evening although wind speeds will start to ease off. The temperature will drop to 5C but it will feel as cold as 0C.

Sunderland is expected to be cloudy for most of the day with a high temperature of 6C.

The wind will have calmed compared to Thursday as we head into the weekend.
