The weather warning said: “Very strong winds are expected during Tuesday and may cause some disruption.”

The Met Office forecast for Tuesday, December 10 said: “Very windy, with persistent and often heavy rain, especially across the hills. A squally and heavy band of rain moving east during the late afternoon. Clearer spells and showers following. Maximum temperature 13 °C.”
