10 photos of snowy scenes across the region after a blanket of snow covered the North East
A blanket of snow fell across parts of the North East and blustery winter showers meant it was a chilly start to Monday morning as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning.
Chilly temperatures and snow showers hit the North East on Monday, February 8 with Sunderland, South Tyneside, Hartlepool and Northumberland among the areas affected.
Our photographers Frank Reid and Stu Norton captured these picturesque shots of the white wonderland and snowy showers across the region.
The yellow snow weather warning remains in place until Wednesday, February 10 so until then grab your scarf and woolly hat and prepare to brave the cold!
