Bottom club Harton and Westoe CW roared back from 2-0 down to edge a 3-2 victory, only their second league success all season.

West End, fired up after the disappointment of the 2-1 home defeat to Wolviston last weekend, raced into a comfortable lead with goals from Luke Bell and Mark Catcheside.

But Brodie Simpson rallied Harton and Dominic Solomon equalised just before half-time.

Harton grabbed the winner on the hour mark, when Solomon scored his second goal of the game.

Evo-Stik League Premier Division leaders Blyth Spartans saw off Northern League neighbours Blyth Town 5-2 after extra time to set up a Northumberland Senior Cup final date with North Shields, in a repeat of last year’s final.

The sides finished up all square after 90 minutes, with Ryan Hutchinson’s Spartans opener cancelled out by Zak Atkinson’s late penalty.

Dan Maguire’s extra-time double, followed by strikes from Sean Reid and Adam Wrightson, killed off Town, though Atkinson fired a late reply in front of a crowd of 1,120.
