A FORMER Washington cinema is to go up for sale at auction.

The vacant ex-Regal Cinema, most recently been used as a children’s play gym and café, has a guide price of £85,000 plus.

It has 9,700 sq ft of space and is behind Victoria Road, a shopping parade in Concord.

Auctioneer Eddisons said it has been advised that the site has been granted outline planning permission for nine two-bedroom, and seven one-bedroom apartments.

“This is a large property in a well-known area,” said Tony Webber of Eddisons.

“The possibility that the site may be suitable for residential development should be reflected in the interest it generates.”

In total, 202 lots are scheduled to go under the hammer at the the two-day sale, which takes place on September 13 at the Premier Inn, Trafford Park, Manchester, and two days later at Leeds United Football Club, Elland Road,

Both auctions will start at 12.30pm.
