English teacher Michael Wheeler has spread the tall ships word more than 5,000 miles from Wearside.
The 31-year-old, from Ashbrooke, gets our admiration for promoting Sunderland Tall Ships 2018 in Seoul, South Korea.
Although I have lived in South Korea for eight years, I still have family and friends in Sunderland and try to get home as often as I can. I think the Tall Ships Race coming to the city is amazingMichael Wheeler
He is pictured outside Gyeongbokgung Palace with some tourists who had hired traditional Hanbok dress to walk around the palaces.
Michael, who works as an English teacher in Seoul, helped to promote Sunderland’s maritime spectacle and said: “Although I have lived in South Korea for eight years, I still have family and friends in Sunderland and try to get home as often as I can.
“I think the Tall Ships Race coming to the city is amazing. It will be such a spectacle to see those mighty masts lined up along the Wear.”
