Water workers take on annual charity ride

WATER workers are saddling up for their third annual charity cycle ride.

Twenty Northumbrian Water employees aim to complete a 170-mile route between June 15 and 17, for Heel & Toe.

The charity provides free therapy to children with cerebral palsy, dyspraxia and other movement conditions.

The team, which works for the water company’s Information Systems department at Pity Me, Durham, will cycle from Durham to Whitby via Barnard Castle.

Systems analyst Andy Longley said: “Having supported two high-profile charities over the past two outings, we felt that this year we should lend our support to a lesser-known charity based within our region.”
