Teachers came up with a “Taylor-made” way of giving their Year 11s a send off to remember.
Staff at Seaham School of Technology appear in their own version of pop megastar Taylor Swift’s hit Shake It Off.
The dance routine begins with a scene from one of the school’s management meetings, led by headteacher David Shield.
Teachers and colleagues then mime along to the lyrics of the song, as they parade through classrooms, down corridors and sail along on a scooter.
Fancy dress, from a Wonder Woman onesie to wigs and tutus, are also worn by the team. The video, which was shown at last week’s leavers’ assembly, has already proved a YouTube sensation after comedian Chris Ramsey tweeted it after meeting one of the teachers.
The footage, shot and edited by the school’s technicial team, has been viewed by more than 12,000 people.
The video follows on from its own take on Frozen’s standout track Let It Go, and Katy Perry’s Firework in the years before.
Deputy headteacher Geoff Lumsdon, who appears in the opening shots, said: “It was done one night after school so there wasn’t any kids around, so they didn’t find out and it was a secret for the assembly.
“They loved it, they were all laughing and cheering.
“The team put quite a lot of time into it, deciding who was going to do what and where.”

Louise Wright commented on YouTube: “Hilarious as always.
“Look forward to these videos every year, and I can’t believe it’s been two years since I left and now I’m off to university.”
