"Everyone seemed to be enjoying it and it was great to see many thousands of people here today."
Shereen said: "We are booked out with gigs and we have our new single out at the end of the month."
The crowd was also delighted to see The Vamps support act, New Hope Club, perform at the event.

Band member Blake Richardson said: "We take a lot of inspiration from old music, our favourite band is the Beatles.
"We all play instruments and we are a young pop act so a lot of our fans are younger.
"We have a fun and energetic sound.
"We have been to Newcastle before and its nice to be back in the North East."
