Washington Snooker A had an excellent 4-1 win against their B team to reduce the gap on Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League Division One leaders South Hylton to five points.

Jay Dewar won the first frame before a 31 break saw Stephen Thompson win the second frame.

Billy Shotton continued his good form to beat Norman Leslie before a 31-break saw Gavin Dixon win the fourth frame.

In the pairs, breaks of 26 and 31 by Stephen Thompson, when paired with Norman Leslie, helped win the frame 80-23.

The match between South Hylton and Lumley B was postponed due to a shortage of players for South Hylton.

Graeme Ablett made his first start of the season for Whitburn away at Steels and claimed the first frame.

A 25-break helped John Smith win the second frame before Ray Charlton Junior dominated the third.

Adam Parker won the fourth frame before a 25-break by Tony Hazard helped himself and Graeme Ablett win the pairs 61-3 for the 4-1 win for Whitburn.

Glendale took the first two frames at home to Biddick B, thanks to Liam Irving and Marc Smithson.

Trevor Walton pulled one back for Biddick before Craig Bell levelled the match.

John Danby and Paul Atkinson stopped the comeback beating Trevor Walton and Peter Mills 81-34, with Paul getting a 34-break to win the match 3-2.

The match between Biddick A and Green Baize was postponed due to a shortage of Green Baize players.

In Division Two, Lumley A moved into a one point lead at the top after an excellent 3-2 win away at Pennywell Comrades.

Paul Stoves won the first frame before Dean Taylor levelled the match.

Joe Nord moved Lumley back into the lead before Ian McDermott and Steven Rushworth has a tussle in the fourth frame with Ian winning a high scoring frame 79-51.

In the pairs, Joe Nord and Paul Nord beat Stuart Taylor and Steven Smith 48-22 for the win.

The match between Mill View A and Cheemas saw the singles alternate into a 2-2 situation before Cheemas took the pairs for the overall 3-2 result.

Aaron Duncan won the first frame for Cheemas before Adam Burnell levelled.

John Burnell moved Mill View into the lead before Greg Butler won a close fourth frame to level the match again.

In the pairs, Lee Campion and Aaron Duncan beat Kev Alderson and Dan Alderson 52-26 for the win.

Michael Monaghan got Seaham Conservatives off to an excellent start at home to Mill View B before Lee Dixon levelled the match.

Gordon Elliott pinched the third frame on the final black before Steve Chandler once again levelled.

John Spruce and Adrian Daniels won the pairs beating Michael Monaghan and Gordon Elliott 68-37 for the 3-2 win.
