Washington Athletic FC is supported by The Rotary Club of Washington. Terry Rutherford, John Dodds and John Corrigan coach and train the youngsters, currently more than 100. Members recently competed in a two-day tournament at Washington School, which was organised by Terry Rutherford. Washington Athletic FC has also started a girls team with their strips carrying The Rotary Club of Washington’s logo. Scouts from Sunderland and Newcastle as well as other high profile clubs attended the tournament on the look out for the next big star.
