Producers were so impressed by the 38-year-old, from Pallion, after spotting him front his Billy Black Band, that they asked him to audition for the show.

The dad-of-two, who filmed the show in September, is remaining tight-lipped about whether any of the coaches turn their chairs for him, which would put him through to the next round.

Billy, who also performs in a Bon Jovi tribute act, said: “They scouted me to audition and I thought it was too good an opportunity to turn down.

“When I performed I tried to ignore the fact the coaches were there and treated it as a gig. It was a great experience and the kids can’t wait to watch it.

“I sang quite an upbeat number that I perform as part of my set in the band, it’s a great one to get everyone dancing.”

Teasers for the show reveal that Billy causes a stir amongst the coaches.

Billy said: “I did hear them having a bit of an argument amongst themselves but I couldn’t hear what it was about.”
