Two people were taken to hospital after being hit by a car during a disturbance in a Sunderland street.
Police say they were called to Eden House Road at around 4.37pm today after reports of a group of men and women fighting.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “Two people are being treated for injuries which are believed to have been sustained in a collision with a vehicle.
“Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening but they have been taken to hospital by paramedics.
“Officers are carrying out a number of enquiries to identify those involved and establish exactly what has happened.”
The road was closed for a short time to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called to a road traffic collision on Eden House Road at 4.39pm.
“We sent two ambulance crews and a crew from the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene.”
The injured people were taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital.
