TWO men have been arrested after an early-morning burglary in Sunderland.

Police are appealing for information about the incident, at 2.25am on Sunday, June 17, when a number of men entered a property at Neville Road, Pallion, and assaulted the occupant before escaping with items including a mobile phone.

A 24-year-old man received a cut to his arm.

The two men, aged 43 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and have been bailed while inquiries are carried out. Anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101, extension 69191.
