Two arrests after Sunderland assault leaves man in hospital

Police were called to Grindon Gardens in Grindon at 9.15am today, where a man was being treated by paramedics.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he was treated for a head injury, not believed to be life threatening.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody.

There has been an increased police presence in the area with extra officers on patrol to provide reassurance.
