Two arrested after pedestrian is killed on A184

Police were called to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a dark coloured car on the A184 westbound near Whitemare Pool, at around 12.30am on Saturday, December 14.

Emergency services attended the scene, but a 36-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The family of the man, who has not yet been formally identified, are being supported by specialist officers.

A man and woman, both aged 40, have been arrested and remain in police custody.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash and enquiries are ongoing.

They have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have been driving in the area at the time, with dash cam footage which could assist with their investigation.
