University bosses in Sunderland are celebrating after scooping a hat-trick of awards.
The University of Sunderland won three marketing awards at the Higher Education Information Services Trust (HEIST) Awards, which is dubbed as the higher education Oscars.
The awards recognise the most hard-working higher education marketing teams in the UK.
Sunderland won gold for best website, gold for best postgraduate student recruitment initiative and silver for the HEIST Awards' marketing team of the year.
The ceremony was held at Manchester’s Principal Hotel, and celebrated excellence in marketing, public relations and advertising for universities and colleges across the UK.
The university's website won particular praise for the role it plays in attracting new students, and the way it showcases the university's digital first initiative.
Sunderland was also recognised for its Master Your Future campaign, which has played a key role in supporting and widening access for students who want to take on postgraduate study.
The institution's marketing team was also celebrated for the role it plays in attracting students.
Judith Green, the university’s marketing and recruitment director, said: “I’m delighted and very proud of everything the team has achieved – what a result.
“The success is truly a testament to the hard work that goes into developing well researched creative campaigns for brand building and tactical promotional activity, as well as our brilliant website.
“To have brought back to Sunderland three awards is a real achievement.
"Gold for our website and postgraduate campaign in a highly competitive field is exceptional and I’m also delighted the entire team was recognised in the Marketing Team of the Year category.”
The HEIST Awards have been running for 28 years.
