UPDATE: Police hunt driver after teen cyclist is victim of hit-and-run in Seaham

A HIT-AND-RUN driver who knocked a teenager off his bike in Seaham last night is being hunted by police.

The accident happened in Malvern Crescent, Deneside, at about 7.50pm.

The 14-year-old victim was knocked off his bicycle by a driver who failed to stop.

The schoolboy is now recovering at home and sustained a badly injured wrist.

His family are awaiting news of whether he has broken any bones.

He also sustained severe cuts and bruises to his face and hands.

No information is know about the vehicle involved.

The Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit has appealed for anyone with information to contact it on 101.
