One lane has been closed and traffic is experiencing delays due to a broken down vehicle on the A19 Southbound from the A1086 (Little Thorpe junction, Easington) to A181 (Castle Eden Interchange, Castle Eden).

8.20am: Likely travel disruption across the weekend

Our region is predicted "strong winds" in a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office and travel disruption is likely.

A statement on the LNER website said: "High winds have the potential to damage overhead lines and tracks, for example through debris or lineside trees falling on to the railway. Network Rail may need to put speed restrictions in place to keep passengers safe."
