Schoolboy left hurt after collision with van on busy Seaham road

A boy was taken to hospital for a check-up after he was involved in a collision with a van earlier today.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: “Officers attended a collision between a pedestrian and a van on Princess Road, Seaham, today at around 9.40am.

“A young boy suffered minor injuries and attended Sunderland Royal Hospital as a precaution.

“The road was closed while officers dealt with the incident, and was reopened at around 10.30am.”

The North East Ambulance Service took the boy to hospital after the crash after sending a rapid response paramedic to the scene.

The street was closed off to traffic while police dealt with the incident.
