Police name pedestrian killed in Chester-le-Street crash

A PEDESTRIAN who was knocked over and killed while walking along a road in Chester-le-Street has been named by police.

Kevin Andrew McLoughlin, 45, was walking westbound along the B6313 road at Bluehouse Bank, when he was struck by a Ford Transit tipper truck on Thursday night.

Mr McLoughlin, of Pelton Fell, was heading towards Grange Villa at about 11.30pm when he was in a collision with the truck, which was travelling in the same direction.

He suffered a fatal head injury and was confirmed dead at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the victim or the vehicle involved shortly before it occurred, is asked to call the Durham Police non-emergency number on 101 and ask for the collision investigation unit.
