METRO services will be disrupted this weekend by a line closure on part of the system.
The line between South Gosforth and Haymarket will be closed on Saturday and Sunday - and the following weekend - for track replacement work.
During each closure a replacement bus service, 900, will be running in the affected area, calling at or near all Metro stations on the route.
The work is part of a £389m revamp of the system.
Nexus director of rail and infrastructure, Raymond Johnstone, said: “This is vital modernisation work which we have packed into two weekends and into night-time work periods so that it has a minimal impact on our services.
“However, there will be some disruption caused by the work and I apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
