Go North East bus 'unable' to serve stop due to parked cars on Seaham estate

A bus company has been forced to ask motorists to move their cars as parked vehicles prevented services reaching some stops.

Go North East confirmed on Thursday, January 2 that one of its buses – services 238 – was diverting its route through Seaham’s Northlea Estate due to parked cars.

A spokesman for Go North East told the Echo that its buses were unable to navigate the estate due to parked cars in the area.

A number of residents have been asked to move their vehicles, he added.

The company also posted a message on its Twitter account at around 10am on Thursday.

it said: “We're unable to serve Northlea Estate in Seaham due to indiscriminate parking in the area.

“Service 238 will operate along Station Road serving all bus stops on diversion. Apologies for any inconvenience.”

At around 1pm, Go North East confirmed the road was now clear, with the service following its usual route.
