Biker taken to hospital after crashing into wall on Seaham street

A man has been taken to hospital after he was injured in a collision with a wall.

The biker was on Princess Road, Seaham, when they were involved in a crash at 12.34pm today, Thursday, March 5.

The North East Ambulance Service said it sent a double-crewed ambulance to the scene and took the rider to the James Cook University Hospital for treatment for facial injuries.

Go North East said one of its Indiego 202 bus services was unable to access the street near to the cemetery and schools due to a police incident.

Durham Constabulary said it was called to the scene at 12.45pm following reports a motorcyclist had collided with a wall.

They said the rider had sustained head injuries in the crash.

It said County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service was also alerted to the incident.
