Drivers in Pallion should also be aware that the Queen Alexandra Bridge will be closed to traffic between Monday 27 January and Monday 3 February. They are advised to use alternate river crossings, such as the Northern Spire, during the closure.

Work on the re-surfacing of Houghton's Blind Lane is scheduled to take place on Monday to Wednesday, January 19 to 21. Traffic diversions will be in place for the work, which are part of the council's programme for nearly 250 road and footpath projects in 2019/20.
