Grand Central blames staff shortage as it cancels services between London and Sunderland and Hartlepool

The firm has blamed staff shortages for its decision to pull two services from London to Hartlepool and Sunderland and one from the North East to the Capital tomorrow, Saturday, December 28.

The cancelled services are the 07.48am King's Cross-Sunderland, 3.22pm Sunderland-King's Cross, and 7.27pm King's Cross-Sunderland.

The first service was due into Hartlepool at 10.59am and Sunderland at 12.02pm. The second was due to leave Hartlepool at 3.54pm and arrive in King’s Cross at 7.07pm and third to reach Hartlepool at 10.24pm and Sunderland at 10.52pm.

The company says it is working with other operators to make alternative arrangements and will post details arrangements on its Twitter feed @GC_Rail as soon as possible.

Anyone who decides not to travel can obtain a full refund from their point of purchase.
