Tony Gillan: Newcastle fans fail with insulting the wrong Steve Martin

Rafael (who is there because he really, really loves the club and not because of an enormous salary and the absence of a better offer – no way) was annoyed about a referee called Steve Martin.

Newcastle fans took to Twitter to hurl insults – at the wrong bloke – leaving one Hollywood resident in considerable bemusement.

The star of Roxanne and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels has taken the abuse in good part. One of his earlier films was The Man With Two Brains. Make your own jokes.

This was not the finest hour for the Toon (sic) army. But let’s be even-handed; it wasn’t their worst hour either.
