Boldon actress Emilie Fleming is swapping the stage for the screen as she appears in a TV hospital drama tonight.
The 24-year-old is set to star in an episode of BBC One’s Holby City as a Geordie girl rushed into the hospital by her father after an allergic reaction.
Emilie, from Boldon Colliery, said: “I play a Geordie on the show and I’m with my dad when I come into the hospital with a nut allergy, but this whole story unravels and secrets come out.
“It was great fun filming it and it’s my first proper TV debut since I graduated.
“It was so much fun and I’d love to do more TV.”
Emilie, who studied at Guildford School of Acting, spent a year on London’s West End playing Cosette in musical Les Misérables and spent the recent festive season starring as Lucy Pevensie in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at Birmingham’s Repertory Theatre.
In 2010, she reached the live finals of BBC talent contest Over The Rainbow, which saw Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber searching for a Dorothy for his production of The Wizard of Oz.
Emilie has also starred as Charlotte Sowerberry in a professional production of Oliver! at the Crucible Theatre, in Sheffield.
Tune into BBC One at 8pm to see Emilie on the show.
