A nursery school took steps to give other children a better life.
More than 120 youngsters from Seaham Harbour Nursery School took part in a sponsored walk in aid of Barnado’s Big Toddle, with £1,117 raised.
The pupils pulled on fancy dress for the morning and afternoon outings.
The route took the group from the school in Bottleworks Road, through Byron Place shopping centre, up Church Street and back again, with a picnic held in atf Ropery Walk Primary.
Headteacher Carole Scott said: “We wanted to help a charity which helps children and this helps them appreciate the problems some children have.
The walks were supported by the neighbourhood policing team.
, with two Police Community Support Officers joining the walk to help keep the children safe.
